Kelvin Doe | 15-Year Old from Sierra Leon Visits M.I.T.
April 25th, 2013
Kelvin Doe is a 15-year old from Sierra Leon. In his home country, he takes parts that he finds on the streets and has built his own equipment to start a radio show. He’s also built a generator to give power to his equipment because the electricity in his country is scarcely available. A M.I.T. student from Sierra Leon arranged for Kelvin to visit and stay in America for two weeks. While there he visited M.I.T., Cambridge, N.Y., and various other places. He got an opportunity to meet people with professional experience and visit the facilities these people work in. The same work that this young boy does on a small scale with very little is the practically the same things these professionals do with multi-million facilities.
It’s inspiring to see a prodigy from the darkest area of the world with so much intelligence and talent get an opportunity to see where his abilities can take him.
